UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a Patient Care Technician in Glendale Heights, IL. The role supports nursing in delivering patient care in a 36-hour/week schedule with day shifts and rotating weekends/holidays. A sign-on bonus up to $3,000 is available for eligible candidates.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1+ year of PCT or bedside patient care in an acute setting, and BLS/CPR. CNA/CPCT/A or EMT credentials are acceptable for consideration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ applicable PCT/bedside patient care experience in an acute care setting.
• BLS/CPR certification or equivalent required; CNA/CPCT/A/EMT accepted.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments and provides patient care suitable to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and supports quality standards.
• Maintains safety via proper PPE use and hand hygiene; enforces safety rules.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and the healthcare team.
• Assists in delivering patient care as a team member under RN supervision.
• Documents procedures as per policy and reports abnormalities.
