  • Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's tertiary care and Level II Trauma Center, housing the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the RN and LPN to support the delivery of care in a safe patient environment that promotes caring and healing.
  • Contributes to the assessment of patient’s health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data. Timely, consistently, and accurately documents all patient interactions.
  • Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
  • Monitor patients and report patients’ condition and promptly report any signs or symptoms of concern to appropriate party.
  • Works effectively with providers and patients to schedule surgeries, imaging, lab, etc. Completes pre-authorization for all procedures or testing to ensure effective reimbursement.
  • Answers phones and responds to messages in a timely manner. Communicates and interacts with all customers, (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians), in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Demonstrates efficiency and dependability with assigned job responsibilities and cross-trains, as appropriate, to assist other staff members in their job duties.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of observations and interventions in the medical record.
  • Assist in preparing and stripping rooms as needed.
  • Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to assigned department.
  • Maintain department records and orders/stocks routine supplies for the department.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Idaho Certified Nursing Assistant certification or National or Idaho EMT licensure.
  • Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of medical terminology
  • One year of experience in acute or long-term care
