Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under the guidance of professional nursing staff. You will assist with procedures for surgical patients, monitor vital signs, and help with daily activities while communicating patient status to the care team.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Maryland CNA or GNA certification, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Maryland CNA or GNA certification required.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
• No previous experience required; direct patient care experience in a health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of nursing staff.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with activities of daily living.
• Check and change dressings as directed and observe wound status.
• Communicate patient status to the care team and document findings.
• Work as a member of the interdisciplinary patient care services team.
