Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Technician to support the care delivery team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with delegated patient care, monitor changes, document findings, and help maintain a safe, patient-centered environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the RN and other providers to ensure continuity of care. The ideal candidate has completed the first nursing-semester or a certified medical assistant/patient care

Responsibilities

• Implements care plans under supervision and coordinates care with the team.

• Coordinates lab tests, imaging, and home/acute care referrals as needed.
• Performs age-appropriate EKGs in OP Clinic and Cath Lab/IR; schedules appointments.
• Maintains sterile technique and proper dressing changes; handles supplies.

Responsible to provide a safe environment for his/her assigned patients; to complete the assigned work; to monitor the patient for changes in condition and to report those changes to the RN; to document the work that he/she completes; and to document and report any pertinent observations as a result of the interventions. This position is an important member of the patient care team who uses acquired, clerical skills to assist in maintaining efficient workflow to ensure safe, quality care with a patient centered approach focusing on continuity of patient care and satisfaction. Making independent clinical decisions is outside of the scope for this position.
