Job summary

Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas seeks a nursing assistant to support licensed nurses by addressing patients’ physical and psychosocial needs with professionalism and timeliness.

The role includes direct patient care with limited invasive procedures and requires good communication and time management. Training on correct caregiving practices and competency documentation is provided during orientation.

Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency. Must possess competency in use of technology and computers.
• Previous caregiving experience preferred. Must have the ability to demonstrate basic care giving skills and essential job functions.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course... will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.
• Must have effective communication and time management skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department and reports patient welfare, safety and security to RN.

Responsibilities

• Works under the direction of a licensed nurse to assist in meeting the physical and psychosocial needs of patients in a professional and timely manner.
• Performs various tasks as competency documentation designates. Position provides direct care with limited invasives procedures.
