Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of experience as a nursing assistant or CNA or equivalent.
• Completion of CNA/Medical Assistant programs or nursing school first semester.
• EMT certification or paramedic license is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Technician assists with patient care under the direction of professional staff to support patients and the nursing unit.

Job Purpose

• The Patient Care Technician under the direction of the professional staff, assists with patient care to provide support to the patient, nursing unit and professional staff.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, Required
• 1 year experience as a nursing assistant in a comparable healthcare facility Or
• Graduate from a certified nursing assistant program Or
• Certified Medical Assistant program Or
• Nursing student who documents completion of the first semester of a Nursing Program Or
• Documented military experience as a medic/corpsman Or
• Foreign Nursing graduate not currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the U.S Or
• EMT Certification/Paramedic License

Licenses and/or Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Required
