UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in La Grange, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our night shift team. This role provides bedside patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and participates in unit operations while ensuring safety and adherence to clinical policies.

The position requires CNA/CPCT/A/NCPCT/PCT-C or EMT certification and BLS, with a High School diploma or equivalent. Night hours, weekends and holidays rotate.

Qualifikationen

• High School Grad or Equiv is required.
• 1+ applicable PCT experience is preferred.
• BLS CPR certification is required.
• CNA is required OR CPCT/A OR NCPCT OR PCT-C OR EMT certification is required.

Aufgaben

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Schedule: 36 hours/week; Nights 6:30pm - 7:00am, w/rotating weekends and holidays
• Up to a $5,000 sign on bonus for Eligible Applicants

Education:

Work Experience:

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required] OR NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Required] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Required]OR Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT)[Required]
