Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide age-appropriate, direct patient care under RN supervision. You will monitor patient conditions, assist with hygiene and daily living activities, and help maintain a safe and clean care environment on the unit.

Responsibilities include collecting vital signs and specimens as needed, following care plans, documenting patient information, and supporting the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (preferred).
• Medical Assistant or EMT credentials accepted.
• Evidence of training in patient data collection and basic care.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, direct patient care and monitor patient conditions.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, and other patient data.
• Assist with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Follow care plans and report changes to nurses or physicians.
• Support safe environment and infection control practices.
