The Birthplace PCT assists with breastfeeding, infant bathing, delivery setup, and sterile scrubbing; prepares charts, ensures rooms ready, and stocks supplies.

Eligible candidates have completed part of nursing school or a medical assisting/PCT program; current CNA/MA/EMT or related certs may substitute; BLS required within 90 days of hire.

In addition to the organization-wide PCT duties, the Birthplace PCT is trained in assisting with breastfeeding, infant bathing, setting up for deliveries and scrubbing in the operating room using sterile process. They prepare charts, ensure rooms are ready, and do general stocking to assist and meet the needs of the team. Education Qualifications* Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program. Required or* Successfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program. Required or* A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Patient Care Technician certification may be substituted for the educational requirement.
