Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. seeks a NICU Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a part-time role in the United States. The NICU PCT assists with sterile procedures, prepares infant feedings, and supports the NICU Transport Team.

Training emphasizes admission readiness and stocking to meet team needs. Required or eligible education includes first semester of nursing, or completion of a medical assistant/PCT program, with certification substitutions possible.

Qualifications

• First semester in an accredited nursing program is required or completed medical assistant/PCT program.
• Certification substitutions may satisfy education requirements (CMA, RMA, CNA, EMT, PCT).
• Experience in clinical office or clinic settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to promote health and wellness.
• Communicate relevant patient information to staff in a timely manner.
• Promote infection prevention and standard precautions in patient care.
• Assist with activities of daily living and accurate vital signs recording.

In addition to the organization wide PCT duties, the NICU PCT is trained in assisting with sterile procedures such as placement of PICC lines, securement of IV's, assisting with lab draws and preparation of infant feedings. Additionally, the NICU PCT's receive special training to go to the helipad to assist our NICU Transport Team. They ensure admission rooms are ready and do general stocking to assist and meet the needs of the team.Education QualificationsSuccessfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program. Required orSuccessfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program. Required orA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or Patient Care Technician certification may be substituted for the educational requirement.
