Job summary

Advanced Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine in Westminster, CO is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our team. You will support healthcare practitioners, greet patients, take vitals, document medical histories, and help with procedures to ensure compassionate, efficient care.

This role offers hands-on experience in urgent care and occupational medicine, plus benefits such as PTO, holidays, health plans, retirement plans, and opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate/License or higher preferred.
  • CPR & AED certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and rooms patients, records vitals (height, weight, temp, pulse, resp, oximetry).
  • Completes intake, reviews medical history, social history, meds, and chief complaint.
  • Anticipates tests such as Hgb Mc, Quick Strep, Rapid Flu, Urine Dip, pregnancy test.
  • Calls back for lab results, prescriptions, scheduling, and messages.
  • Performs injections, phlebotomy, assists with procedures, nebulizers, EKGs.
  • Performs occupational testing including DOT physicals and pre-employment exams.
  • Opens/closes/cleans/stocks exam rooms; manages instruments.
  • Answers phones, checks in/out patients, verifies insurance, processes referrals.
  • Adheres to professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in required trainings and meetings; performs other duties as needed.

Job Title: Patient Care Tech

Reports To: Clinic Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Greets and rooms patients including taking all vitals such as ht, wt, temp, pulse, respiratory, and/or pulse oximetry.*
  • Completes intake of patients in the room including reviewing med hx, social hx, medication lists and chief complaint.*
  • Anticipates if the Practitioners needs any other tests run including Hgb Mc, Quick Strep, Rapid Flu, Urine Dip, and pregnancy test.*
  • Conducts call backs as directed by Practitioners including getting lab results, prescription refills, tickler files, re-scheduling and general messages.*
  • Responsible for injections, phlebotomy, setting up and assisting with procedures, nebulizers, and EKGs.*
  • Conducts Occupational Medicine testing including Department of Transportation physicals and Pre-Employment Exams.
  • Opens, closes, cleans, and stocks exam rooms. Autoclaves instruments.*
  • Answers phones, checks in/checks out patients, checks insurance eligibility, accepts Time of Service Payments, and processes referrals when needed.*
  • Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.*
  • Participates in required city, state, and regulatory training and meetings as assigned by the employer.*
  • Performs any other duties that assist in the operations of the office.*

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Training:

Medical Assistant Certificate/License or higher

Certificates and Licenses:

Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) certification
