Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Patient Care Technician Apprentice to join our team. This program advances from PCT Apprentice to a certified Patient Care Technician, emphasizing compassionate care, teamwork, and learning within a hospital setting.

You will complete accredited programs (CNA/MA/PCT or equivalent) and learn phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs, and BLS within 60 days to prepare for the full PCT role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of the following: CNA, Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician program; or Fundamentals of Nursing program; or HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program; or equivalent medical background.
• If selected, candidate will be hired into the PCT Apprentice role and later transferred to Patient Care Technician after successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
• At least one year of PCT/CNA experience in hospital setting preferred; phlebotomy, EKG and vital signs experience preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of entering position.
