Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff across patient care activities in the unit. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vitals, performing point-of-care testing, phlebotomy as needed, and reporting changes in patient status to the RN, while maintaining safety and professional communication.

Call lights, meal trays and patient transport are handled as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care, daily living activities, and nursing tasks as directed by the RN.
• Performs UPMC nursing core duties including blood glucose, vital signs, I&O, specimen collection, and Foley care.
• Supports communication across departments and contributes to unit activities.
