Job summary

IU Health Avon unit is seeking a dedicated team member to provide direct patient care and essential unit clerical support under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse. You will help with scheduling tests, maintaining patient records, and guiding physicians, patients, families and vendors within a clean, organized environment.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, current Basic Life Support certification, possible CPR, and familiarity with medical terminology and infection control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification may be required.
• Requires prior acute patient care experience or completion of the IU Health PCA program.
• Basic life support certification through the AHA or via the IU Health PCA program.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of infection control principles.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Performs unit clerical duties and supports the patient care team.
• Maintains clean, orderly environment and assists with patient flow.
• Schedules tests and procedures and maintains patient records.
• Gives information and directions to physicians, patients, families, vendors.
