Job summary

Memorial Health in Springfield, IL seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on the 7C ICU burn unit for the night shift. Full-time role 6:45pm–7:15am, includes every third weekend.

You will support patients recovering from trauma/burns with mobility, vital signs, and daily care on a unit that emphasizes teamwork, precision and compassion. Candidates should be reliable and compassionate, with CNA or nursing school progress and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in nursing school with one semester of clinicals completed
• CPR certification required or obtained during onboarding

Responsibilities

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) on the 7C ICU burn unit at Springfield Memorial Hospital, you’ll help patients regain strength and independence after surgery. From mobility support to monitoring vital signs, you’ll play a key role in recovery and healing on a unit that values teamwork, precision and compassion.

Education, Licensures & Certifications

• One of the following is required:
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
• Enrollment in nursing school with one (1) semester of clinicals completed
• Two (2) years of relevant experience in a nursing assistant role
• CPR certification required or obtained during onboarding

Experience

• Experience in acute care preferred
• Strong observational skills and ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition

• Respond promptly to patient call lights, ensuring comfort and safety
• Collaborate with nurses and providers to maintain a clean, organized and efficient unit
