The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible for providing nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse. Incumbents perform routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort. The PCT observes patients and reports changes in patient condition to the registered nurse. Specific skills include phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT).

Requirements

1. Education: High School Diploma or GED
2. Experience: Relevant Experience
3. Certification and Licensure:
   • BLS Certification (if hired for the Transitional Sub-Acute Unit at Reading Health Rehabilitation Hospital)
   • PA Nurse Aide Certification
