Qualifications

Patient Care Technician-3E Med/ Surg- Iowa Lutheran Hospital

Shifts: Nights; Full Time and Part Time

Each shift requires every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation

3 East is a 27-bed Medical Surgical unit that provides an enriching learning experience. Caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses including respiratory, gastroenterology, endocrinology, infectious disease, and stroke. 3 East provides an enriching learning experience and uses innovative care delivery to help provide holistic care to our patients by utilizing advancements in technology partnered with fundamental nursing care. We utilize evidence-based practice to make a difference in our patient care and advance critical thinking skills and nursing autonomy within our multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • PCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
  • Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
  • Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 75 hour Certified Nursing Aid certification preferred. Indicate on your application which CNA certification you possess (75 hour, 120 hour or 150 hour).
  • Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work.
