The University of Iowa is seeking a Patient Care Technician for its Inpatient Family Medicine unit. This part-time role involves assisting nursing staff in providing patient care, including obtaining vital signs and performing basic medical tasks. Ideal candidates will have direct patient-care experience and strong communication skills.

University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown(located at 500 E. Market Street, Iowa City, IA)is a 194-bed hospital that became part of Iowa’s only comprehensive academic health system on Jan. 31, 2024.
The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Inpatient Family Medicine at the Downtown Campus is seeking to hire 60% Patient Care Technicians in our new 3Center Inpatient Family Medicine unit. Under direct supervision, assists the members of the nursing team in provision of multiple types of patient care in in-patient and out-patient care areas. Their work requires familiarity with a wide variety of nursing procedures used in delivering patient care.
Position Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Percent of Time: 60%
Schedule: Nights (1900-0730) with holiday and weekend rotations.
Location:Downtown Campus
Pay Differentials:Shift differentials for evening andnight.
