Summary of Job Duties: The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a trained member of the unit based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School, GED or formal educational equivalent.
  • Health Care Experience, Patient Care Experience, Certified Nursing Assistant or Military Corpsman preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
  • Successful completion of patient care technician course is required within 3 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR Certified/Licensed.
  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting


Additional Information:

Requirements:

  • The PCT works under the direct supervision of the R.N. and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention.
  • The PCT must pass the required competencies.
  • The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards.
  • The PCT adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures and standards and guest care guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
