Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated basic patient care services related to nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under RN supervision, the PCT assists in providing care according to their skills and department needs, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. The PCT observes hospital policies and State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

Responsibilities include:

• Participating in nursing care plan implementation under RN supervision.
• Recording patient information including vital signs, intake/output, and other data.
• Assisting with mobility, transfers, discharges, and demonstrating proper body mechanics.
• Collecting specimens for tests, ensuring accuracy and timely transfer.
• Helping patients with activities of daily living and changing linens.
• Serving as Monitor/Telemetry Tech as needed.
• Engaging in evidence-based practices to enhance patient experience, including safety rounding and communication techniques.

Qualifications:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
• No experience required.
