Job summary

Endeavor Health in Plainfield is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department to support the RN team and provide care, comfort and safety for patients during night shifts.

This full-time role offers a 36-hour work week with rotating holidays and weekends. A CPR certification is required, EMT-B is preferred, and prior patient care experience or nursing rotation is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Associates or American Red Cross
• Preferred EMT-B Certification
• Experience: six months of patient care experience or equivalent or nursing rotation or EMT-B course
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when required by the department
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Location : Plainfield Hospital
• Full Time: 36 hours per week
• Hours : Night Shift (1:00pm-1:00am) Rotating Holidays/Weekends Required

What you will do:

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need:

• Education : N/A
• Certification : Current CPR Certification issues by either American Heart Associates or American Red Cross
• Preferred Certification : EMT-B Certification
• Experience : Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation or successful completion of EMT-B course
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Unique or Preferred Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
