DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician eager to give life in an outpatient dialysis center. You can make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. If you desire to provide care with empathy and compassion—like you would want for yourself—read on.

Joining DaVita as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) offers an exciting opportunity to start your career in healthcare. With paid, extensive training, you'll acquire the skills to care for patients and build a network of healthcare professionals across your region. After training, you'll join a team including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other PCTs to provide patient care. This is more than a job—it's a career driven by passion and purpose.

DaVita, meaning 'giving life' in Italian, is committed to providing quality service to patients, partners, and teammates. Our mission is to be the Provider, Partner, and Employer of Choice.

Our PCTs find professional fulfillment at DaVita. We offer clear pathways for advancement through our Clinical Ladders program. Additionally, via the Bridge to your Dreams program, teammates in good standing for six consecutive months are eligible for tuition assistance to pursue nursing degrees or certifications. We also offer training for facility administration and regional operations roles. Your growth depends on your performance and ambition.

Some key details about this position:

  • No dialysis experience required.
  • Training may occur at a facility or training clinic other than your assigned clinic.
  • Potential to float to various clinics during and after training.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What to expect:

  • Direct Patient Care: Spend most of your day providing safe, comfortable dialysis treatment and patient education.
  • Technician Duties: Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment, including measuring stats, observing patients, and setting up machines. Note: exposure to blood and needles is involved.
  • Relationship Building: Develop long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment thrice weekly, educating them on dialysis topics.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with clinicians including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, working under RN supervision.

What we provide:

  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash out.
  • Support for you and your family: resources, counseling, Headspace access, backup care, parental leave, pet insurance, and more.
  • Paid training.

Minimum requirements:

  • Desire to care for others in healthcare.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfort working around blood and needles.
  • Ability to mix acid or bicarb.
  • Physical and mental stamina for long shifts (including 12+ hours).
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics.
  • Healthcare certifications like BONENT, CHT, CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomy are a plus.

DaVita is a clinical leader, exceeding CMS standards in key performance areas. We encourage our teammates to improve patient health through clinical goals and quality initiatives.
