Centers Dialysis Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for our dialysis centers in Brooklyn, NY.

DUTIES:

1. Prepare dialysis machines.
2. Prime extracorporeal circuits.
3. Perform pre-dialysis tasks, including:
   • Obtaining vital signs.
   • Measuring pre-dialysis weights.
   • Calculating fluid removal based on estimated dry weight.
4. Report abnormalities to the charge nurse.
5. Initiate, monitor, and terminate hemodialysis procedures as per protocol.
6. Monitor and manage patients with AV fistulas and grafts.
7. Report unusual symptoms or effects to the charge nurse.
8. Monitor patients with permcaths intradialytically.
9. Document observations on flow sheets.
10. Administer saline for hypotension or cramps, informing the nurse.
11. Perform venipunctures for access and blood samples.
12. Operate centrifuge machines.
13. Prepare blood samples for lab transportation.
14. Troubleshoot dialysis machines.
15. Check dialysate conductivity, temperature, and pH.
16. Check residual Sodium Hypochlorite and water system for chlorine/chloramine.
17. Disinfect dialysis machines.
18. Monitor water system and document deviations.
19. Enforce policies, including patient rights.
20. Handle biohazardous waste properly.
21. Understand emergency procedures, including CPR, and assist in emergencies.
22. Communicate patient conditions to MD and RN.
23. Assist with patient transport as needed.
24. Adhere to infection control standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Hemodialysis Certification.
• CPR/BLS Certification.
