Outpatient Dialysis Patient Care Technician - Paid Training!

Location: Nampa, ID - Training in Caldwell. Post-training, coverage may be needed in Caldwell, Boise, Meridian, or Fruitland. Shifts start as early as 4:30 am and can end as late as 5 pm, typically lasting 10-12 hours. Work 3-4 days per week with rotated Saturdays. Closed on Sundays. Schedule details shared during interview.

Support Staff

Incoming PCT will work alongside 1 RN and 1-2 other PCTs.

You will be part of a holistic team including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other PCTs, gaining skills to care for patients and build a professional network. DaVita's Clinical Ladders program allows PCTs to advance and increase earning potential based on performance. The Bridge to your Dreams program offers tuition assistance for those interested in becoming a DaVita RN or pursuing an Associate Degree in Nursing. Additional training is available to become a Facility Administrator or Regional Operations Director.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, caring for up to 4 patients at a time during dialysis treatments.
  • Monitor patients, measure and record stats, observe patient condition, and set up hemodialysis machines, with exposure to blood and needles.
  • Contribute to process improvements for patients and teammates.
  • Build long-term relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease, educating them on dialysis topics.
  • Work under RN supervision within a team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, and social workers.
Position Details
  • Training may occur in a nearby clinic with teammates other than your assigned clinic.
  • Work hours vary; typically 32-40 hours per week.
  • Potential to float to other clinics during and after training.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, rotating Saturdays, and holidays, scheduled at least 1 month in advance.
Minimum Requirements
  • Desire to enter healthcare and care for others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfort handling blood and needles, and mixing acid or bicarb.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work long hours on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred but not required: certifications like CHT, CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomy are advantageous.
