Joining DaVita as Patient Care Technician (PCT)

is an exciting opportunity to jump start your career in the health care industry. With paid, extensive training, you will gain the skills needed to care for our patients and build a network of other health care professionals across the geography where you live. Once you have successfully completed training, you will join a holistic team of care professionals - including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other experienced PCTs - to care for our patients. What you can expect:

1. Direct Patient Care: Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment. Our PCTs care for up to 4 patients at a time.
2. Building relationships: Develop long-term relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease, receiving treatment an average of 3 times/week. You will also educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
3. Technician Duties: Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and machine setup. YOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH NEEDLES AND BLOOD EXPOSURE.
4. Team: Work within a cross-functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership. PCTs work under RN supervision.

Additional Details:

• Pay: $15-16/hr., depending on experience.
• Schedule: FULL-TIME shifts starting as early as 4:00 AM, typically 10-12 hour shifts, 3-4 days a week, including some Saturdays and holidays. Clinics are usually closed on Sundays.
• Training: Up to 12 weeks of full-time training at a local facility with a preceptor, possibly traveling for training.
