Patient Care Technician (Finance)



Under the day-to-day direction of the on-duty nurse practitioner/physician assistant, the general purpose of the patient care technician (PCT) position is to maximize patient flow through the clinic while providing a stellar patient experience. Responsible for performing all appropriate administrative tasks, including electronic health record (EHR) documentation, in accordance with company policy. Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent administrative, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Excellent customer service and task management skills
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in retail, customer service, or healthcare
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, survey-ready healthcare environment to meet Joint Commission standards
  • Greet patients and visitors professionally
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic space daily
  • Answer questions following HIPAA guidelines and consult with providers as needed
  • Manage patient flow using system tools
  • Complete patient registration and verify identity
  • Determine payment methods, collect payments, and log in the EHR
  • Scan documents and alert providers for scanning needs
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs and history
  • Assist with off-site events as needed
  • Order supplies and prepare shipments
  • Travel to designated clinics if floating
  • Assist providers with specimen collection and reporting as qualified
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
