Job summary

Methodist Hospital for Surgery in Addison, TX is seeking staff to assist in nursing areas, transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher, and provide constant observation when required to maximize patient safety. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of two years patient care experience preferred.
• BLS certificate or within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient’s status and needs.
• Answers call lights and attends to/reports patient needs.
• Obtains specimens and transport to and sends through designated tube.
• Transfers, moves, and repositions patients.
• Makes occupied and unoccupied beds.
• Maintains current knowledge and certification requirements.
• Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
• Respects and regards the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
