Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital in Montgomery County, PA, is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the evening shift in Med Surg/Overflow. This role supports the licensed clinical team and helps deliver patient-centered care, using telehealth tools as needed.

The PCT will assist with direct and indirect care, maintain safety, manage supplies, and participate in rounds and rapid response activities as required. Collaboration and compassion underpin daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care concepts.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Good communication and teamwork with diverse patients and families.
• BLS certification (AHA) required at hire.
• Experience using telehealth tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs designated direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Maintains supplies and equipment to ensure efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs, and responds to call lights promptly.
• May serve as a virtual safety associate as needed for campus needs, supporting telehealth encounters.
• May facilitate clinical exams with distant providers using peripheral devices and telehealth software.
