Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Backus Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support patient care under a Nurse Leader. The role emphasizes direct and indirect patient care activities, ensuring a safe and efficient environment and a positive patient experience.

Training is provided on-site with opportunities for clinical ladder advancement. Required: no experience needed, orientation completed, and a BLS credential within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided on-site.
• Successful completion of PCT specific HHC orientation.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment preferred.
• Current certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT or CMA to be eligible for advancement in the PCT clinical ladder.

Responsibilities

• Perform selected direct and indirect patient care activities to support a safe and efficient care environment.
• Contribute to providing comprehensive care to patients under supervision.
• Ensure a positive patient experience in a high-activity setting.
