Job summary

UNM Hospitals is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to provide basic patient care including tube insertion, wound care and phlebotomy, and to support the nursing station with clerical duties. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with ADLs, maintaining the care plan for patients across Neonate to Geriatric age groups, and documenting in the Electronic Medical Record.

Candidates should meet education and CPR requirements; 1 year related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent
• 1 year directly related experience
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Observe patient safety and report observations to Charge Nurse or designee
• Take and record vital signs and assist with ADL activities
• Complete documentation in the Electronic Medical Record
• Maintain the patient care area per policies and procedures
• Follow safety policies and report safety concerns

Bilingual English/Spanish
