Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Plano, TX is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for our Medical Surgical Tele/Neuro/Spine 4A unit. This full-time, day shift position offers three 12-hour days per week from 7:00am to 7:00pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

The PCT will provide basic patient care under nursing supervision, assist with activities of daily living, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. Strong opportunities for growth and a strong team culture are highlighted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior acute care hospital experience strongly preferred.
• CLIAFE - foreign education equivalency required.
• PCT Training Program TX CNA through NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR approved program required upon hire.
• EMT – EMT-B equivalent required upon hire.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active certification required upon hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• Possesses organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under nursing staff direction.
• Assist with activities of daily living and safe patient handling.
• May transfer or transport patients as needed.
• Enter orders into computer or manual system; document accurately.
• Collaborate with nurse to adapt care to patient population and cultural needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient environment and anticipate needs.
