Job summary

Texas Health Alliance in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for our fast-paced Med Surg unit. This full-time day shift position operates 7a–7p across 3 shifts, totaling 36 hours per week, with self-scheduling and strong opportunities for growth within a supportive team.

The role involves collecting patient data, assisting in admissions/transfers/discharges, and delivering daily living activities tailored to patient/family preferences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• TX CNA or PCT training with NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR approved program.
• Current EMT for TX or equivalent medical training.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• CPI training within 60 days of hire.
• BCLS certification prior to independent patient care.
• 1 year PCT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient data and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and revises daily living activities based on patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Adapts care to reflect patient population in collaboration with the nurse.
• Incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
• Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and rounds as appropriate.
