Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and direct patient care, ensuring comfort, safety and personal needs are met. The role involves aiding patients with daily living activities and performing hygiene-related procedures within a unit-based, collaborative team.

Required certifications include BLS and Georgia CNA per registry, or CMA/AMT/NHA credentials as alternative paths, plus at least one year of direct patient care experience in acute settings.

Qualifications

• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry.
• One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assistance and patient care to ensure patient comfort, safety and personal needs.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care tasks.
• Work within a unit-based, self-directed patient care team sharing tasks with licensed and non-licensed staff.

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

Required

• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry

OR

Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

OR

Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

OR

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

• One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

Preferred

• Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
