Texas Health Resources is seeking a Part-Time Night Shift Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Emergency Department in Bedford, TX. The role supports patient care under the plan of care, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR program.
• Current EMT for TX or equivalent.
• Military medical training experience accepted.
• Nursing student with fundamentals completed preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and revises activities of daily living.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system when applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Adapts care in collaboration with the nurse to patient population.
• Incorporates cultural/religious needs into care delivery.
• Keeps patient environment clean and safe.
• Anticipates patient/family needs and rounds as appropriate.

Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway in Bedford, TX 76022 Work hours: Part Time, Night Shift (7p to 7a), 2 shifts, 24 hours per week.

What You Will Do

Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.

• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or
• Current EMT for TX or
• Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or
• 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• Previous PCT experience is preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.
