Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Athens, TX is seeking a Day Shift, full-time ICU Patient Care Tech to assist patients with ADLs, monitor conditions, and transport patients as needed. The role requires High School diploma or GED and BLS within 14 days.

Experience in acute or long-term care is preferred. You will work in a 127-bed facility with a 24-hour ED and Level IV trauma designation, contributing to patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer and prior to direct patient care.
• Preferred: 1 year experience in acute or long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patients with ADLs and through ongoing monitoring and response to patient needs.
• Organizes work to complete daily assignments within assigned timeframes.
• Competently performs defined skills in order to meet patient needs/expected outcomes.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe environment by following appropriate safety, infection control, and patient care polices.
• Participates in tasks related to environment and equipment use (including use, cleaning, and storage) according to unit and hospital policy.
• Appropriately utilizes and charges for supplies used in patient care.
• Assists with cost-effective care by ensuring appropriate use of supplies with minimal waste.
• Competently delivers therapeutic interventions to populations served under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Provides transport services by bed, stretcher, or wheelchair to patients throughout the hospital.
