Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for our Float Pool Unit. This fast-paced role supports nursing care, collects data, assists with admissions, transfers and discharges, and adapts activities of daily living to patient needs.

If you are compassionate, reliable, and team oriented, this may be for you. You'll work night shifts (7 pm–7 am), 36 hours per week, with self-scheduling, strong growth potential, and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or THR program.
  • Current TX EMT license.
  • Military experience with medical training equivalent ( EMT-B ).
  • 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification.
  • Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
  • Previous hospital experience is preferred.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.
  • CLIA — comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
  • Collects patient data, reports significant findings to nurse.
  • Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
  • Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
  • Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
  • Enters orders into computer or manual system.
  • Documents accurately and appropriately.
  • Adapts care with nurse to reflect patient population.
  • Incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
  • Keeps patient environment clean and safe.
  • Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and rounds as appropriate

Work location: Texas Health Denton, 3000 N. I-35 in Denton, TX 76201.

Work hours: Full Time, Night Shift (7p to 7a), 3 shifts, 36 hours per week. Possible weekend and holiday requirements. Great growth potential and complete benefits available.

What You Will Do
