Job summary

Texas Health Cleburne seeks a Patient Care Tech (PCT) – PCU to provide patient care under the plan of care. This full-time day position supports admissions, transfers, and discharges, and works with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, BCLS, CPI training, and PCT or THR-approved program; EMT or nursing student qualifications may apply.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • PCT training or THR-approved program; not required to maintain certification on hire.
  • EMT or equivalent medical training acceptable on hire.
  • Nursing student who completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program on hire.
  • 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of active certification on hire.
  • BCLS prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
  • CPI training maintained annually.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collect and report patient data; support admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and document care accurately.
  • Collaborate with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment and proactively meet patient and visitor needs.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines.
  • Participate in process improvement and adhere to safety goals.

Patient Care Tech (PCT) – PCU

Work location: Texas Health Cleburne- 201 Walls Drive, Cleburne, TX 76031

Work hours: Full-Time Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) for 36 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Here’s What You Need
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required.
  • PCT Training Program TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire. Upon Hire Required Or
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) Upon Hire Required Or
  • Other Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program Upon Hire Required Or
  • Other 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification. Upon Hire Required And
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required And
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required.
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nursing Students who do not complete course of study in nursing but having completed their Fundamentals Training and EMTs who do not formally retain their EMT status may continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in their PCT position.
