Job summary

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the fast-paced Med Surg Unit 31. The role is full-time with a day shift from 6a to 6p, totaling 36 hours weekly, including weekends and holidays. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

You will assist patients per plan of care, collect data, aid in admissions/discharges, and support daily living activities while coordinating with nurses to ensure safe, culturally respectful care in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR‑approved program.
• Current TX EMT certification or military medical training equivalent.
• 1 year PCT experience or nursing student with fundamentals completed.
• BCLS certification required.
• CPI training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and revises activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Acts to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system when applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Collaborates with nurse to adapt care to patient population.
• Incorporates cultural/religious needs into delivery of care.
• Keeps patient environment clean and safe.
• Anticipates patient/family needs and rounds as appropriate.

Work hours: Full Time, Day Shift (6a to 6p), 3 shifts, 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday requirements. Growth potential and complete benefits available.

What You Will Do

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or
• Current EMT for TX or
• Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or
• 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.
