Job summary

Premier Health Partners is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Atrium Medical Center’s Float Pool. This part-time role works the 7:00 pm to 7:00 am shift, totaling 24 hours per week across a 48-hour pay period.

The PCT collaborates with nurses and doctors to monitor patients, assist with mobility, and report changes in patient conditions. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and a BLS CPR certificate, with either prior PCT/STNA/CNA training or recent direct patient care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a BLS CPR certificate or be oriented to obtain it at orientation.
• One of the following: STNA/CNA/PCT training or direct patient care experience in last five years, or nursing school with clinical rotations.

The PCT works under the supervision of the nurse, which means the nurse makes sure they are doing things safely and correctly. Qualifications

Education:

You'll need a high school diploma or GED.

Training:

You'll need to get a BLS CPR certificate. If you don't already have it, they can teach you how to do CPR at your orientation, too (so you don't need to do it beforehand).

Experience:

Successful completion of one of the following:

• Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
• Direct patient care experience within the last five years: Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities ie. Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting
• Currently enrolled in nursing school and have completed at least one clinical rotation.

*Special Consideration: If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation. This is in lieu of the above requirements. *
