Job summary

A healthcare organization in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a part-time Patient Care Tech for their 4MW Med Surge Unit. Department: 4MW Med Surge Unit

Facility: Miami Valley Hospital

Shift: 7:00 pm – 7:30 am Part Time 24 hours a week, 48 hours per pay period

Position

Position: Patient Care Tech

Responsibilities

• Check vital signs, such as temperature, heartbeat, and breathing.
• Help patients move around, get dressed, and eat.
• Collect samples like urine.
• Report any changes in a patient's condition to a nurse.
• Walks, ADLs, Weighing Patients; Vitals

Training and Qualifications

Education: You\'ll need a high school diploma or GED.

Training: Before you start, you\'ll need to get a BLS CPR certificate. They can teach you how to do CPR at your orientation, too, so you don\'t need to do it beforehand.

Successful Completion Of One Of The Following

• Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
• Direct patient care experience within the last five years: Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities, i.e., Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting
• Currently enrolled in nursing school and have completed at least one clinical rotation.
• Special Consideration: If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation. This is instead of the above requirements.
