Job summary

BMC Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV is seeking a Nursing Assistant to perform nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will coordinate with licensed medical staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include assisting with admissions, monitoring vital signs, maintaining a safe environment and supporting administrative tasks to ensure smooth department operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns to RN immediately.
• Assists RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and supports personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• Assists in specimen collection and other patient activities.
• Maintains clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports equipment repairs promptly.
• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
• Communicates nutrition-related issues to RN.
• Assists department with administrative tasks.
• Answers patient call bells and relays messages.
