Job summary

AdventHealth Mansfield is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in delivering compassionate patient care on multiple shifts. The role involves vital signs, documentation in the electronic medical record, and strict adherence to safety and policy guidelines.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, BLS CPR certification, and a willingness to learn and grow with the team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ PCT experience preferred.
• Women's health experience preferred.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• CNA certification preferred or pending.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
• Accurately take and document vital signs in EMR.
• Document procedures per policy and reports.
• Perform duties according to policy and procedure.
• Act within scope during clinical emergencies.
• Support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines and proper PPE use.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.
• May perform point-of-care testing based on competency.
• Demonstrate AdventHealth core values in behavior.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Various Shifts Available - Full Time (36 Hours) and Part Time (24 Hours), Days (7a) and Nights (7p)

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record
• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Women's health experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
• NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Preferred] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Preferred]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT)[Preferred]
