Job summary

MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support safe, quality patient care on the Medical/Pulmonary Unit, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

This part-time evening shift (.2 FTE), 3pm–11:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays, offers opportunities for growth within MercyOne Health System. High school diploma or GED is required; Basic Life Support training is required or available; CNA certification or healthcare student status is encouraged.

• Medical terminology knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff and physicians in patient care activities.
• Provide safe, quality patient care as delegated by the RN.
• Support department housekeeping and supply/equipment/facility maintenance.
• Contribute to customer service and teamwork within the unit.

As a patient care tech at MercyOne, you will participate in the provision of safe, quality patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse through support of standards and philosophies of Genesis Medical Center. Provides assistance to nursing staff and physicians in various patient care and non‑patient care activities. Performs tasks in a caring and efficient manner that supports customer service and assists with department related housekeeping, and supply/equipment/facility maintenance tasks.

General Requirements

• No experience required
• Special Training: Basic Life Support
• Training Preferred: previous experience, healthcare student, CNA certification, medical terminology

Education:
