Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus is seeking a per diem patient care support aide to assist nursing staff with basic patient care, hygiene, vital signs, and comfort measures. This role emphasizes compassionate care and reliable teamwork in a hospital setting.

Eligible candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, and preferred experience in acute care or clinical settings. Nursing assistant training and CPR/CPR-based certifications are required or will be pursued after hire.

Qualifications

  • Required- High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred-6-month acute care and/or previous clinical experience
  • Completion of a nursing assistant program
  • Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (American Red Cross or American Heart Association); if Red Cross, obtain American Heart Association within 60 days of hire
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification within 90 days of hire/transfer
  • Ability to use computer driven patient care equipment
  • Has effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Preferred: prior basic experience performing clerical or customer service duties with prior HUC training/experience in a clinical setting

  • Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs, changes bed linens
  • Serves and collects food trays, provides between-meal nourishment, and handles supplies

Job Responsibilities

Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs, and changes bed linens. May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store, and prepare other supplies. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.



Qualifications


MINIMUM EDUCATION


  • Required- High School Diploma or GED

Required Licenses/Certifications
