Job summary

The University of Virginia (UVA) Community Health is seeking a Technical Assistant II to provide patient care, assist with phlebotomy, and support nursing staff during the night shift at UVA Health facilities.

The role requires a High School Diploma, CNA/Phlebotomy/CMA/CCMA/RMA certification, and basic computer and medical terminology knowledge. On-site, with a base hourly range and potential shift incentives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Current CNA, Phlebotomy, or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification with state required.
• Basic computer knowledge with demonstrated administrative skills.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• High level of compassion and motivation to help others.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care services, cleans, maintains and stocks supplies and equipment and applies infection control principles.
• Receives assignments as delegated by the RN and reports patient data to identify needs.
• Performs clerical, phlebotomy, safety attendant and other duties within scope.
• Assists in room turnaround and organizes supplies and equipment as needed.
