UTMB Health in Galveston, TX seeks a Patient Care Technician II to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care across assigned units, and to mentor unit staff. Responsibilities include assisting with clinical procedures, setting up diagnostic tasks, and ensuring patient safety through attentive care and teamwork.

Minimum qualifications: high school or equivalent, hospital experience, and completion of Nurse Assistant, Medical Corpsman, EMT program, or enrollment in nursing school

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of hospital experience.
• Completion of Nurse Assistant program, Medical Corpsman program, or EMT program.
• Enrollment in a recognized School of Nursing with the first semester including clinical concepts.
• Documentation of two or more of the listed competencies (e.g., emergency dispatch, high-level disinfection, language assistance).

Responsabilités

• Provide technical assistance and supportive patient care across assigned units.
• Serve as a leader/mentor for the assigned unit staff.
• Assist with unit diagnostics, preparation for procedures, and patient safety measures.
