Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston, TX seeks a Patient Care Technician II for part-time shifts to provide technical assistance and supportive patient care across assigned units, while acting as a mentor for teammates.

Minimum qualifications include high school or equalivent, one year hospital experience, and completion of a Nurse Assistant, Medical Corpsman, EMT, or nursing school with clinical health concepts, or equivalent documented training. BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• One year of hospital experience AND completion of one of the listed programs.
• Multiple specialized trainings may meet the qualification requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet patient needs.
• Serve as a leader/mentor for the assigned unit(s).

Nurse Assistant program

Medical Corpsman program

EMT program

School of Nursing – first semester with clinical concepts

2+ of the following trainings: Emergency Dispatch

POCT test site manager

Cross-training to HUC duties

Patient Care Assistant trainer

Cast placement

High-Level Disinfection

Set up of delivery tables

Area diagnostic procedures support

Language assistance

Burn tub room duties and splint applications

INQN, IDERAD, PACS system resource/user
