Job summary

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Night Shift in the Comprehensive Transplant Unit. The role supports acutely ill adolescents and adults after complex abdominal organ transplants, providing patient- and family-centered care as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, Maryland CNA, BLS CPR certification, and at least one year of clinical experience in a relevant setting.

• Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required.

The Comprehensive Transplant Unit

is a 32-bed adolescent/adult surgical unit. The unit offers 3 levels of care: floor,telemetry, and intermediate levels of care. Care and services provided: post-operative abdominal organ (kidney, liver, and pancreas) transplant recipients; as well as medical management of complications secondary to transplantation. This unit is the designated step down for theComposite Tissue Allotransplantation(hand & face) recipients.

Patient Care Technicians

at The Johns HopkinsHospitalprovide highly skilled and compassionate patient and family-centered care as a contributing member of the health care team. Ongoing education is provided to all Patient Care Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• One year of clinical experience e.g., home care, outpatient, acute care (hospital preferred) technician experience during the most recent two years in a setting relevant to the unit.
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
