Job summary

Baptist Health Arkansas is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist patients and families with basic care, monitoring, and hygiene as part of the patient care team.

You will work alongside clinicians, communicate clearly with patients and families, and participate in ongoing education to support compassionate, high-quality care at Baptist Health Arkansas.

Qualifications

• 12 college level credit hours that include a passing grade in English Composition with a C or higher and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater.
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Service industry experience preferred but not required.
• Will provide education that includes CPR, Skills training, Crucial Conversations, and Hospitality in Healthcare

• Assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete.
• Support the healthcare team with effective communication to and from the patient, family, and staff.
• Engage patients with compassionate interaction and problem-solve to anticipate needs.

Job description

The primary function of the PCT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team.
