Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Nurses Aide I certificate listed with the North Carolina Department of Facilities Services.
• Some understanding of medical terminology.
• At least one year of experience in an acute care setting, either as a unit secretary or as a Nurse Aide I preferred.
• Able to organize confidential clerical responsibilities and patient care, maintaining workflow despite interruptions and changing priorities.
• Able to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff, and all others using proper channels of communication.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit(s).
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Tech I assists the nursing staff by performing assigned duties for patients and staff under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
• The Patient Care Tech I duties include, but are not limited to, secretarial functions and NA I skills.
